Placement Testing

Currently, HCC and KCTCS are utilizing a testing waiver policy . An admissions staff member will work with you to determine if you need to complete testing.

TABE/KYOTE is a computerized exam used to determine your skill level to place students in appropriate classes. 

The TABE assessment is a computerized exam used to determine your skill level in English and reading.  The KYOTE assessment is a computerized exam used to determine your skill level in mathematics. These tests ae used to place students into appropriate classes.  The entire testing sequence will last approximately three hours.

Proctoring

The testing center is available to proctor exams. This is free for all KCTCS classes. For non-KCTCS classes, a $25 fee will apply.
