LIST OF SCHOLARSHIPS AT HCC

Henderson Community College is honored and blessed to have annual support from public and private donors in our local community.  Scholarships make an incredible impact on the success of students at HCC. We have the info you need if you are interested in donating to HCC or setting up a new scholarship!

To apply for one of these scholarships, please complete the online scholarship application during the open application period, unless otherwise noted.  The applications are reviewed by a committee and awarded based on eligibility.

Awarded to recent high school valedictorians, salutatorians or top 10% of graduating class. Renewable for one year.

The President’s Scholarship goes to students in each of the KCTCS colleges who have outstanding academic performance and unmet financial need.

Awarded to recognize outstanding African-American residents of Kentucky. Grade point average, rank in class, ACT scores and extracurricular activities are considered. Renewable for one year.

Established by Ms. Dorris C. Arnold. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.

Provided by The Gleaner newspaper, Awarded to applicants who meet minimum academic standards and show financial need.

Made possible by the Partners in Progress (PIP) Campaign. Provides a scholarship based on academic merit.
Established in 2011, this scholarship is awarded to a student who resides in Kenergy service area.
Awarded to a full-time student pursuing an Associate Degree. Student must be a single parent with one or more children under the age of 12. Renewable for one year.
Established by the Kentucky Retired Teachers Association, with preference given to a student pursuing a career in education.
Established by Methodist Hospital. Preference given to a student pursuing a degree in the medical field.
Established by Mrs. Margaret McCollom, provides a scholarship based on academic merit.
Established by J.C. McElroy, preference given to applicants majoring in Agricultural Technology, demonstrating financial need, and is employed part-time.
Established by Gary and Charlotte Critser. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.
Criteria includes Henderson, Union or Webster co. residency; 2.5 GPA or higher with an active, retired or deceased Union member in the family. Requires separate application, which is available from the Financial Aid Office.
Established by Mrs. Agnes B. Whittington. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.
Established in 1997 with preference given to immediate family members of Alcan employees. The award is also based on GPA, community support activities, and financial need.
Established in 1996 with preference given to Henderson County residents with the intent to transfer to a four year university. The award is also based on financial need, GPA and community service.
Established in 1996 with preference given to children of Dempewolf employees, Henderson County residents with the intent to transfer to the University of Kentucky.
Established by Patrick H. Donahue in 1994 in memory of his wife. Preference is given to a nursing student.
Established by Mrs. Lavenia English. Provides tuition, fees and books; Preference given to Henderson County residents pursuing a course of study in a health care related field.
Preference given to students pursuing a degree in a health care field. 
Awarded to students who meet the scholarship application requirements of a 2.75 GPA. Selected by the HCC Scholarship Committee.

George H. Lyne established this memorial endowment with preference given to Henderson County residents. Selected by the HCC Scholarship Committee.

Established in 1996 with preference given to Henderson County residents with the intent to transfer to a four year university. The award is also based on financial need, GPA and community service.

Established in 1996. Recipients selected by HCC scholarship committee with preference given to family members of associates of Fifth Third Bank, low to moderate income families residing in counties directly served by Fifth Third Bank.
Established in 1996 with preference given to students entering the medical field. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.

Established in 1993 with preference given to a Henderson County graduate demonstrating a financial need. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.

Established 2009. Recipient is selected by HCC Scholarship Committee. Preference is given to student demonstrating potential for achieving academic excellence in healthcare, mining and manufacturing. May also be used to provide scholarship for students transferring from HCC to baccalaureate degree program in Kentucky.
No restrictions. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.
Established by Service Uniform & Rental, Inc. Children of Service uniform and rental given first priority, Must maintain a good GPA. Recipient chosen by HCC Scholarship committee.

Awarded to students, chosen by the faculty in their field of study, who demonstrate a sincere interest beyond that normally required, and who have performed to an excellent manner in this discipline. These scholarships are made possible by the George Hoffman Trust in the areas of study listed below.
