HCC/MSU SIGN MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT

Published on Dec 4, 2019

Henderson, KY – On November 27, 2019, Dr. Jason Warren, President & CEO of Henderson Community College (HCC) and Dr. Robert Jackson, President of Murray State University (MSU) along with other representatives from each college, signed a new Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to be continued through June 30, 2021.

This MOA describes the responsibilities and partnership between HCC and MSU’s Henderson Regional Campus, which is located on the campus of HCC. Warren said, “I appreciate the cooperative spirit and collegiality encouraged by Dr. Jackson. HCC and MSU have a long-standing partnership. Our teams work very well together. The revised MOU we have signed builds on our existing relationship and further enhances it for the benefit of our local community.”

The MOA outlines how the institutions will share both facilities and personnel, participate in joint promotional efforts and offer seamless 2+2 degree programs. This endeavor intends to leverage limited dollars for maximum benefit to the local community while meeting the needs of the local workforce. Administrators, faculty and staff at both institutions see great value in extending quality education opportunities to Henderson area students.

Through this continued partnership, students are able to complete their associate's, bachelor's and master's degree on the campus of HCC. The HCC/MSU teacher education pathway is just one example of how HCC and MSU's partnership is helping to meet local workforce needs. Jackson supports this vital partnership, saying, "We greatly appreciate the excellent partnership with Dr. Jason Warren and the faculty and staff of the Henderson Community College as we work together to advance higher education initiatives in Henderson County and the surrounding region."
