GET ONBOARD WITH HCC's PATHWAY TO SUCCESS PROGRAM

Published on Jul 18, 2022

HCC is still actively seeking students to participate in the Pathway to Success program.

The Pathway to Success program is free and open to first-year students at HCC or students who are returning to finish their education after being away for a while.

Students who participate are assigned a near-peer mentor who assists participants throughout the fall semester.

Participants can also enroll in a First Year Experience class (FYE 105) from Aug. 8-12. This free class runs the week before the official start of fall semester. It allows students to gain confidence and knowledge going into the semester. Students earn three credits for the class.

Additionally, participants can enroll in a communications class (COM 101). The communications class helps to satisfy requirements in both the Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degree plans. If students have not met reading requirements, they can take a reading class (RDG 100) that is connected to the COM 101 class.

Finally, throughout the semester, the program has scheduled several Lunch and Learn sessions in which students dine with fellow participants and listen to accomplished speakers.

If you're interested in the program or the COM 101 class contact Vince Tweddell via email or at 270-831-9640.
