DISCOVER EMPLOYERS AND RESOURCES WITH HANDSHAKE!

HCC has partnered with Handshake - a modern career development platform. HCC Students and alumni can use Handshake to discover employers and opportunities, submit applications, and attend career fairs and other events.  Handshake was launched to over 200 local employers recently and now available to all HCC students!

Students are encouraged to claim their Henderson Handshake account and complete their profile!  Their basic information has been pre-populated so it’s a quick process for them to get started.  They will see a 2-3x increase in relevant job opportunities tailored specifically to their interests with a completed profile.  

Faculty and staff are encouraged to create a test student account to experience the value - and help spread the word to students and alumni!  It’s a good way to experience first-hand what students see in Handshake so you can readily explore jobs and events and share those with students you may regularly work with!  

Students are encouraged to use the Handshake mobile app!  Unfortunately, school employees are unable to set up a student account with their work email on the Handshake mobile app at this time, so desktop use is encouraged.    

Email Angie Watson in the Career Services office of your interest in setting up a Handshake student account and your work email will be added in Handshake so you will gain access.  

• You should receive an email from Handshake asking for you to confirm your email address and will be prompted to create a password. 
• Complete your profile - keep your representative student population in mind to see the most relevant postings. From there you can then explore opportunities that are tailored to your students' interests! If you have any issues getting access, please contact HCC Career Services.  

Please remember Handshake is new for our local employers, students, and alumni in addition to HCC Career Services & Workforce Solutions, so please be patient as we learn this new tool and steadily see more interaction between employers and students.
