The Riverbend Review: Art and Literary Magazine of Henderson Community College is soliciting submissions for its 2015 issue. The deadline to submit is September 23, 2015. Submissions are accepted in poetry, fiction, non-fiction, haiku, or art.

The Magazine invites local writers and artists to submit their original, previously unpublished work for publication. Contributors may submit up to five poems, five haiku, three short stories, and three creative non-fiction essays. Artwork is accepted up to five submissions per artist.

How to submit:

E-Mail your entries as an attachment to The author s name should not be listed anywhere inside the entry. In the email message, provide your name, address, phone number, short bio, and the genre of your submission(s). For each work, include its title and category (poetry, haiku, fiction, or non-fiction).

Prizes are awarded in all categories (poetry, haiku, fiction, non-fiction, and art): $75 first prize; $50 second prize; $25 third prize. There is no entry fee. The publication and literary contest are generously supported by the College Foundation and Hurm Endowment.

A special Charles H. Sommers Non-Fiction award will be given to an outstanding entry in non-fiction.

The 2015 issue will be dedicated to Ken Hurm, a late benefactor of the magazine and an accomplished haiku poet whose efforts increased the appreciation of haiku in our community.
