Summer Enrichment Program slated at HCC
Henderson Community College announces the 2015 Summer Enrichment Program, for middle school minority students, grades 6 8, will take place on the campus of Henderson Community College in the Student Center, Monday, June 22, 2015, to Friday, June 26, 2015, from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon. A light breakfast, lunch and transportation to and from Henderson Community College are provided daily.
The Governor s Minority Student College Preparation Program / Summer Enrichment Experience Program was established to assist in addressing the issues of attrition, lower GPAs and undecided majors experienced by minority students. Academic enrichment activities in math, reading, computer science, technical information, and multi-cultural education are offered to encourage students to remain in school and ultimately enroll in college.
Applications are available in the guidance offices at the following schools; Henderson North and South Middle Schools, and Union County Middle School. Completed applications are to be submitted to each school s counselor, before being forwarded to HCC. Application deadline is May 4, 2015.
