Changes Announced to HCC Foundation Board of Directors

Henderson, KY – The Henderson Community College (HCC) College Foundation Inc. is pleased to announce executive committee changes and a new at-large board member. Bob Berry, CEO of Big Rivers Electric in Henderson, will serve as president while Bill Gentry will serve as vice-president. Donald Wathen will continue his role as secretary/treasurer. In addition to the changes in the executive committee, Charles Johnson will join the board as an at-large member.
“I am proud and honored to serve as president of the Henderson Community College Foundation. Knowing first-hand the value of a community college education, I will work hard to support the college’s mission through fundraising and advocating on behalf of HCC. I believe we have opportunities to make college more affordable for students and fundraising is critical to our mission,” states Berry.
The College Foundation, Inc. was founded to support the mission of HCC by raising funds and awareness throughout the community. It is a separate not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, led by an independent Board of Directors. The primary purposes of the Foundation include advancing the vision, mission, goals, and objectives of HCC and:
- Catalyst, leadership, and coordination for the private-sector resource development programs and activities of Henderson Community College.
- Raise private funds for college-wide initiatives and needs.
- Provide oversight and guidance for the management and investment of private funds.
- Friend-raiser and advocate for Henderson Community College.
- Advisor to Henderson Community College President.
