HCC Student Showcase Awards
HCC students showcased their work last Thursday, December 5th and received awards based on research/critical thinking, creativity/innovation, visual display, interview and category specific criteria. Categories for judging were Academic or Applied Learning. Student presentations covered writing, oral presentation, science, technical and multi-media projects. The projects allow students to see connections between different disciplines and realize new academic and technical knowledge that is meaningful and can make a difference in the lives of other people.
Blake Beaver received the Academic award for his project, Boom!, Math is Loud! Honorable mentions went to Deborah Bourland, The Bilingual Effect: Language and its Effects on Early Childhood Cognitive Development and Tracy Cates, Help Body, Help Mind.
The Applied award went to Jessica Thompson for her project entitled, Early Literacy. Honorable mentions were Luke Watson, Arithmetic in Agriculture and Shannon Dement, Taking Musical Learning to the Next Level in ECE.
