HCC Offering Poetry and Literature Classes
Henderson Community College is offering two new courses beginning this Fall.
Come discover the quest for individualism and freedom through literature by taking this new course titled Literature and Identities: Cultural Influences and Experiences, ENG 233-01. Students will explore ethnic, social, political, and gender influences on identity through studying a collection of literature. This course satisfies a General Education requirement for Humanities and meets the Cultural Studies requirement. The class will meet Mondays and Wednesdays, from 9:30 to 10:45 am.
Have you always wanted to write poetry but didn t know how to start? Enroll in this new, online Poetry Workshop or ENG 207 for weekly workshops and poetry discussions. Get friendly feedback from peers and gain inspiration from accomplished contemporary poets. By the end of the class, each student will complete up to six publication-ready poems. All are invited to enroll, especially those pursuing a higher degree in creative writing.
Each course is worth three credits. For more information on either course, currently enrolled students should contact their advisor.
