HCC Freshman Awarded Shaeffer Oil Scholarship
At a recent Young Farmers Association state convention in Lexington a local student was awarded the Shaeffer Oil Educating to Farm Scholarship.
The scholarship is designed to recognize and assist young farmers that are furthering their education with a full intention to graduate and become involved in production farming as their primary lifestyle according to the information provided by Shaeffer Oil Manufacturing Company.
Basically it was just an application process for any YFA member in high school fixing to go to college or current college students that have plans on being involved in production agriculture. Then they announced the winner at the convention, HCC freshman Bobby Householder explained.
Householder was the recipient of this $1000.00 scholarship and already has plans on where he ll use it. The money is all going to go back to here [HCC]. I have two more semesters here in the Agriculture program before I transfer on to Murray, said Householder.
