HCC Celebrates Community College Month!
April is Community College Month and time again to honor a few of HCC s former graduates. HCC is grateful for our devoted alumni community and is proud to recognize those who bring credit to HCC through personal accomplishment, professional achievement or humanitarian services. This week we recognize graduate, Susan Overton.
Susan Overton spends her days as the Librarian at South Heights Elementary helping students discover the joy of reading. A graduate of the Henderson Community College and Murray University s Two Plus Two Program in Elementary Education Susan was able to complete her degree without ever leaving Henderson. With a solid foundation and a rewarding start in higher education, Susan continued her training at the University of Southern Indiana receiving a Masters in Elementary Education and a Rank 1 in Library Media Education at Western Kentucky University.
Henderson Community College is a family tradition says Susan, whose parents, aunts, uncles, and many cousins have all taken advantage of the convenience and flexibility of attending Henderson Community College.
The best thing about Henderson Community College for Susan was the hometown feeling she found on campus. She explains, I knew many of the professors and staff, and most of the students. I felt at home the entire time I attended HCC.
