HCC Benefactors Recognized
The Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS) hosted the 15th annual President s Gala and Benefactors Awards Dinner on Saturday, November 1 at 7 p.m. at the Lexington Hyatt and Convention Center Downtown.
Henderson Community College and the College Foundation recognized Dr. Arlene and David Alexander and Union County Fiscal Court as benefactors of the year.
Dr. Arlene and David Alexander have greatly supported Henderson Community College through their generous contributions to the Rotary Colonels to College scholarship program. Dr. Arlene and David Alexander offered not only their financial support, but eagerly committed their time and efforts by serving on the scholarship s inaugural committees ensuring its success. Their generous gifts and efforts will forever impact the lives of Henderson County students, who, without a scholarship, might never be able to attend college.
Union County Fiscal Court was also recognized for its support of the Braves 2 College campaign with their pledge to the scholarship program. The fiscal court s generous gift to this scholarship campaign has provided almost one-half of the total fundraising goal, and will impact the lives of students who might otherwise not have the opportunity attend college. County Judge Executive, Jody Jenkins, accepted the award on behalf of the county.
More than 800 state and local dignitaries from across the Commonwealth attended the event. This event provides an opportunity for KCTCS to honor an impressive list of 28 of the state s leading individuals, business, and foundations for their generous philanthropic and voluntary support to KCTCS.
