Community Theathre Holding Auditions for "A Tale of Two Cities"

Henderson Community Theatre has announced open auditions for its spring production, A Tale of Two Cities, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday, January 28 and 29, at the Henderson Fine Arts Center,

This adaptation of Charles Dickens historical drama depicts the years leading up to the French Revolution when it was the best of times, it was the worst of times. The play moves between London and Paris, between the revolutionaries and the more well-to-do, between the court of law and the guillotine.

Director Sharon Burton will cast approximately 15 people for speaking roles in this production. Major male roles include the cynical Sydney Carton, the idealistic Charles Darnay, the tortured Dr. Alexandre Manette, the revolutionary Ernest Defarge, and the kind banker, Jarvis Lorry. Major female roles include young Lucie Manette, bloodthirsty Therese Defarge, and loyal Miss Pross. Other men and women who are cast will appear in multiple roles as nobles, lawyers, rebels, etc. Ages for these roles range from 20s to 60s.

Although those auditioning are welcome to attend auditions both nights, only once is necessary. The cast will rehearse 6:30-9:30 on Monday and Thursday evenings with 7:00 p.m. performances at the Henderson Fine Arts Center on April 5 and 6.
