Arc Flash Safety Training Class
An Arc Flash Safety Training Class will be held on March 28, 2012, from 8 a.m. to
5 p.m. in the Sullivan Technology Center, Room 310, Henderson Community College.
Arc Flash Safety Training, NFPA 70E 8-Hour class is offered to students on an annual basis. This course qualifies as the training needed to comply with NFPA 70E and OSHA 29CFR1910 regulatory purposes. This course emphasizes electrical safety, broadly describes various NFPA 70E Codes and Standards, and provides an overview of arc flash boundaries and required personal protective equipment.
Competencies: Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
recognize the nature of electrical hazards in the workplace.
understand the differences between shock and arc flash hazards.
reference and review specific codes and standards of NFPA 70E.
understand the designation of shock and arc flash boundaries.
recognize needed personal protective equipment according to hazard or risk.
understand the criteria of how to work on or near live parts.
