Each year the HCC faculty nominate one outstanding student to receive theGeneral Excellence Awardfor the 2020-2021 academic year. This award is given to a student who has earned 30 or more credit hours and has demonstrated consistently the qualities of scholarship, service, character, and/or leadership. This year the faculty has voted to create two separate awards, one recognizing excellence among the AA-AS degree/transfer program students and the other recognizing excellence among the AAS occupational/technical program students. The selection of award recipients is based on nomination and a vote by the faculty. This year, the General Excellence Award goes to two students. For the AA-AS degree/transfer programs the General Excellence Award is going to Hadley Ellen Alexander. The AAS Occupational/technical program General Excellence Award is going to Shelby Pendergraft. On behalf of the faculty, I want to extend heartfelt congratulations to Hadley and Shelby for being selected as HCCs 2020-2021 General Excellence Award winners.
