ACADEMIC AWARDS PROGRAM OUTSTANDING STUDENT Agriculture Tyler Fuesler This year�s Outstanding Student in Agriculture is Tyler Fuesler. Tyler is from Union County, Kentucky and is pursuing a degree in Agronomy. OUTSTANDING STUDENT Computer and Information Technologies Joseph Bender Joseph Bender will receive the Outstanding Computer and Information Technology Student Award. Joseph is pursuing his Associate of Applied Science in Computer and Information Technology with a concentration in information security. OUTSTANDING STUDENT Industrial Maintenance Technology Jeffrey S. Fuqua I am proud to present the Outstanding Industrial Maintenance Technology Student. This year the recipient is Jeff Fuqua. He will be graduating this spring with an Associates of Applied Science in Industrial Maintenance Technology. He is currently employed at Hydro Aluminum. MATHEMATICS EXCELLENCE AWARD Parker Pritchett James Parker Pritchett receiving the Math Excellence Award. Parker is currently enrolled in calculus II having completed the entire mathematics series here at Henderson Community College. Congratulations Parker. CHEMISTRY EXCELLNCE AWARD Lilly Shirel A leader with meticulous attention to detail, logical and systematical thought processes, creativity and kindness for her fellow student. This young woman never ceases to amaze me. It is with great exuberance, I present the Chemistry Excellence Award to Lilly Shirel. NURSING EXCELLENCE AWARD Courtney House The Nursing Excellence Award is considered the highest honor given in the nursing program. The student who is receiving this award is Courtney House. Each semester, members of the nursing faculty select one student to receive the highest honor given in the program. This semester�s winner of the Nursing Excellence Award is Courtney House. FLORENCE NIGHTINGGALE�S SPIRIT OF NURSING AWARD Paige McElhaney Members of the nursing faculty also vote for a student who embodies the spirit of nursing. One who has all those qualities that you desire from a nurse who will be taking care of you in your time of need. This year�s recipient of Florence Nightingale�s Spirit of Nursing is Paige McElhaney. NURSING GOLDEN SCISSORS AWARD Sarah Stoner And finally, each semester members of the nursing faculty select one student who has experienced some challenges throughout the program, however, has excelled despite these. The winner of the Nursing Golden Scissors Award this semester is Sarah Stoner. OUTSTANDING STUDENT Medical Lab Technology Abigail Asuncion Abigail Asuncion will receive the Outstanding Medical Laboratory Technology Student Award. Abigail is pursuing her Associate of Applied Science in MLT with certificates in Phlebotomy for the Healthcare Worker and Physician�s Office Laboratory. Abigail is an exemplary student. Her work is always thorough and complete. She effectively communicates with her instructors and classmates. She exudes the skills and confidence necessary to become an exceptional lab tech. In addition to her school work, Abigail works part time as a lab processor at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. OUTSTANDING STUDENT Medical Assisting Hannah Lacaze Hannah Lacaze will receive the Outstanding Medical Assisting Award. Hannah is graduating with her Associate of Applied Science in Medical Assisting. OUTSTANDING STUDENT Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Mandy White The Outstanding Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Student for 2019-20 is Mandy White. Mandy has successfully balanced a full course load with her roles of a wife and a mother of four. She also works for Audubon Area Head Start serving infants and toddlers. Mandy has been very organized and submitted high quality work. She will be continuing her education at Campbellsville University in the Owensboro campus. Best wishes to Mandy. TRUDY B. MCCONNELL OUTSTANDING FIRST YEAR STUDENT AWARD Lala Grounds The Trudy B. McConnell Outstanding First Year Student Award is presented to Lala Grounds. She entered the Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education program in the spring semester. Her work and work ethic have been outstanding. I look forward to her continued success in the IECE program.
