Placement Testing

TABE/KYOTE is a computerized exam used to determine your skill level to place students in appropriate classes.

The TABE assessment is a computerized exam used to determine your skill level in English and reading.  The KYOTE assessment is a computerized exam used to determine your skill level in mathematics. These tests ae used to place students into appropriate classes.  The entire testing sequence will last approximately three hours.

Placement exams are by appointment only. Contact Pamela Buchanan, HCC Testing Coordinator, at 270-831-9783 for more information. You may also fax student copies of test scores to the coordinator at 270-831-9612, though official ACT scores will need to be on file in the Admissions Office.

Proctoring

The testing center is available to proctor exams. This is free for all KCTCS classes. For non-KCTCS classes, a $25 fee will apply.
