In celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Black History Month, Henderson Community College had scheduled a Diversity Explosion Week for the first week in February. But due to the recent ice storm, HCC has rescheduled its Diversity Explosion Week activities as follows:
- Monday, Feb. 23, 4 p.m. -- The Notorious Steppaz, Henderson County High School step team, performing in the On Stage series presented by Henderson Fine Arts Center Guild at the arts center.
- Tuesday, Feb. 24, 11:30 a.m. -- Annual Multicultural Feast, on the Fine Arts Center stage. Bring your favorite ethnic dish.
- Thursday, Feb. 26, 5:30 p.m. -- International Tea Time, Cyber Café, Sullivan Technology Center.
- Thursday, Feb. 26, 6:30 p.m. -- Film: "To Kill A Mockingbird," with discussion to follow, Room 310, Sullivan Technology Center.
- Friday, Feb. 27, 11:30 a.m. -- Martin Luther King Jr. Program, with keynote speaker Bobbie W. Jarrett, executive director of the Housing Authority of Henderson, on the Henderson Fine Arts Center stage. The President's Award for Diversity will be presented.
