Auditions are set for Sept. 8-9 for Henderson Community Theatre's fall production, "An Adult Evening with Shel Silverstein."
The auditions will take place starting at 6:30 p.m. both nights at Henderson Fine Arts Center. Directors will be veteran HCT members Frank Furbush and Steve McCarty.
The play is described as a collection of one-act plays, presenting some comic, fanciful and provocative vignettes strictly for adults in both language and themes.
(Silverstein is well-known for his work with children's literature, hence the special note that this will not be a production suitable for children.)
Those auditioning will be asked to participate in improvisational exercises as well as cold readings. Although auditioners are welcome to attend both nights of auditions, only once is necessary.
The cast will rehearse on Monday and Thursday evenings, and the performance dates are Nov. 14 and Nov. 15.
