Henderson Community College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges to award the associate degree. Contact the Commission on Colleges at 1866 Southern Lane, Decatur, Georgia, 30033-4097 or call 404-679-4500 for questions about the accreditation of Henderson Community College.
Note: The Commission is to be contacted only if there is evidence that appears to support an institution’s significant non-compliance with a requirement or standard.
Accreditation is important for two reasons. First, it assures HCC students that they are receiving an education that meets the high standards of an independent organization.
Secondly, since Henderson Community College is accredited to award associate degrees, an HCC degree is automatically recognized and accepted by all public or private four-year colleges and universities.
HCC’s compliance report has been submitted to SACS and is now available for review by the public. To access the report please go to https://henderson.compliance-assist.com/Accreditation and click on “Reaffirmation of Accreditation” located in the gray toolbar on the top left of the screen. This will bring you to the Compliance Report tab. You may click on the number for each section to review HCC’s response to that section. The supporting documentation items are not available without a user id and password. If you feel you need access to the supporting documentation please submit your request to Kim Conley.
