Mission Statement

The mission of the HCC tutoring program is to provide academic support to all students who are enrolled at Henderson Community College through peer-led individual and small group tutoring sessions.

  • Assist students in identifying strategies for improving learning and increasing academic performance while respecting individual differences.
  • Help students to become confident and independent learners.
  • Increase student engagement in the learning process, fostering academic improvement and greater understanding in course material.
  • To provide a comfortable and welcoming environment that supports teacher instruction and supplements student success.

What should I expect?

Tutors are able to help with problems and questions from class. Tutors are able to work with more than one student at once, so if you see other students receiving help, they may also help you as well! Please come prepared with books, notes, or materials you may need. See our list of Tutoring FAQs as well as our Tutoring Myths.
