Academic Resources for Students

Our primary goal is for you to succeed. With that in mind, we offer a variety of services and programs to help you achieve your academic and career goals.

What kind of help can I get?

We have many programs and services to provide what you need to succeed at HCC. Among them are:

  • Success coaching, which provides support, helps establish educational plans, and assists in shaping magnifying glassyour behavior to achieve your educational goals.
  • At-Risk Early Alert, which identifies and assists students determined to be "at risk" due to academic or personal factors.
  • START Center, which provides COMPASS, GED, WorkKeys, computer literacy, business, and industry testing.
  • Focus Assessment, which helps you choose or change your major and identify your preferences or early choice of a career field.
  • Peer and professional tutoring, through which exceptional fellow students and faculty offer help.
  • HCC Writing Center is a free service for students, faculty, and staff who would like assistance with written projects.
